23.12.07 : New toys just in time for Xmas

Xmas has come early for me!

I recently took delivery of two Nikon D3 cameras, 14-24mm lens and a 24-70mm
lens to compliment my existing wedding kit. The camera body is highly sought
after by pros and is still not in supply to those who have ordered it many
months ago. Luckily enough, a friend by the name of Joel (who works at Ted's in
Melbourne) was able to help source me one, so a big thank-you goes out to him.

Impressions after a few weeks of using it is...IT'S ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I tried to
avoid the massive hype behind the camera and had a go with it with an open mind,
but it still blew me away completely. The low noise at high ISO is astounding -
there is no noise - and the feel, build and AF is a huge step up from my old
kit.

I've since had a play with the camera using various lenses (50mm 1.4, 14-24,
24-70, 85mm 1.4 and 70-200). A few sample pics have been added below, most taken
at very high ISO.
