Why should we choose you as our photographer? At Lumens Photography we are passionate and honest about our work. We have a simple philosophy and that is to shoot every wedding like it is our own. We offer high quality professional photography and products and personal customer service.
Which photographer will shoot my wedding? We have two main photographers in each city that cover all our weddings as a solo photographer. The photographer that will shoot your wedding will be in contact and meet with you to show their work.
Do you work with an assistant? We always try to bring an assistant with us to every wedding. This will help us with carrying gear and other mundane tasks. For weddings with a second photographer booked, we will bring a second photographer and not have an assistant.
How can we organise a meeting with you? Please call Hien on 0403 199 118 or email email@example.com to arrange a mutually agreeable time for the both of us. We can either meet at our photography studio, or we can visit you in the comfort of your own home on most weeknights when both yourself and your partner are available. The meeting is a time we can show you our beautiful albums, how we manually edit photos and is a good time to ask any questions that you may have. It's also great to meet us in person as personality is an important part of choosing the right photographer.
How many photos do you usually take during a wedding? We prefer quality over quantity. Every wedding is unique and we do not put a limit on the number of images we take through the day. However, we usually supply anywhere from around 50-60 images an hour.
Do I get the digital negatives on DVD and do I have rights to these files?Yes, every package booked with us, you will receive the files on DVD. These images are fully edited but in low resolution (600 pixels at the longest length). It is ideal for sharing via email or social media. If you wish, you have the option of purchasing the high resolution photos on DVD. These photos have not been reduced in quality and they don't have a watermark on them. All images are perfectly adjusted, ready for print with many having effects applied such as black & white, sepia and others. You have rights to print and make use of these images for personal use (non commercial) as often as you like as long as you don't sell them. More related info here.
How does the website gallery work? After the images are edited, we start uploading all of them to our website in your own private area. The gallery will have its own password so only you and your friends & family have access to view it. Depending if you've purchased the high res DVD, these images are full resolution and can be downloaded at any time, ready for print as is. If you choose not to show ALL images to your friends and family, we're happy to setup a separate gallery with images of your choice. We can also set different sizes and parameters if you don't want to release original sizes as well.
What is the turnaround time?Images are uploaded onto the net as soon as they're edited. This usually takes around 8 -12 weeks to be completed after which album design can take place. We will then ask you to select photos to design an album and usually place it online for proofs and any changes to be made. Albums will usually arrive 4 weeks after design approval.
Will you reserve a date for me?Unfortunately, we cannot hold a date for you. We operate strictly on a first in first serve basis, and a booking requires acceptance of the "terms & conditions" with the deposit to be paid in full. We will however provide you a courtesy call should another client enquire with the same date as yours.
How long does it take you to edit the photos? In our terms and conditions, we state 8-12 weeks turnaround, however typically it will take less than 4 weeks depending on the time of year. We edit every single photo individually so there's a fair amount of hours spent on post work. If you require photos to be edited much sooner, we offer a 'priority edit service' for $300 and will edit the photos within 5 working days of payment.
What kind of equipment do you have?It is the photographer not the gear! However, we only use top of the range pro Nikon equipment to ensure the best quality. We have identical backups of everything that is important should equipment fail and have enough memory and batteries to shoot multiple consecutive weddings. If you're looking for a wedding photographer, it should be a prerequisite that they use pro camera bodies, if nothing else but for the ability to write the same image to two different cards at the time of capture. This is our pool of camera gear available to us: Nikon D3x body (studio) Nikon D3s body x 4 Nikon D4 body x 2 Nikon D800 body x 2 Nikon 14-24mm F2.8 Nikon 24mm F1.4 Nikon 24-70mm F2.8 x 4 Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 x 3 Nikon 10.5mm F2.8 Nikon 28mm F2.8 Nikon 50mm F1.2 Nikon 50mm F1.4 x 2 Nikon 85mm F1.4 Nikon 85mm F2.8 PC-E Nikon 105mm F2 DC Nikon 135mm F2 DC Nikon 200mm F2 x 2 Nikon 200mm F4 micro Nikon SB-800 Flash x 12 Nikon SB-900 Flash Pocketwizard Plus II x 6 600W Studio Lights x 2, Backdrop with white or black cloth.
